Made in Agriculture is a podcast produced by Farm Credit East for Northeast agricultural producers. Designed to provide the business insights producers need to make informed business decisions, the podcast will cover topics such as tax planning, risk management, market trends and succession strategies. New episodes will be released bi-weekly and will be available on all major podcast platforms.
Chris Laughton is Farm Credit East’s Director of Knowledge Exchange and also serves as the FarmStart Program Manager. He writes frequently on topics relating to the intersection of agriculture, economics and management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Horticulture from Cornell University, as well as an MBA from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts. Prior to joining Farm Credit East, Chris worked in the nursery/greenhouse industry.
Kyle Karnuta is a Knowledge Exchange Specialist based in Farm Credit East's Claverack, N.Y., office. Kyle has developed a love of agriculture and farm economies, having spent time working with the New York State Assembly Committee on Agriculture and with Cornell Cooperative Extension. She also has an in-depth knowledge of food retail and marketing from her time as a brand marketer in the consumer-packaged goods industry. Kyle is deeply curious about the agricultural economy and delights in traveling to farms across the Northeast.
